I have experimented with the balls by cutting them in two and using the dremel to cut out a hollow which is decorated separately from the exterior of the ornament. These designs have varied greatly and have all turned out quite well. They can have angels, bells, beads etc in the center with a variety of colours to choose from for the exterior and interior, as available. This is one of the more recent designs.
